In China, built the world's first bridge along the river

In August 2015, a movement was launched around the world's first ecological low-water bridge over the river. It is built in Hubei Province (China). What is noteworthy, the four-kilometer bridge passes directly along the riverbed, and not across.

Why is the bridge built along the river?

The reason is that the construction of the road from the Biba motorway to Hingshan district has become a stumbling block between local residents, environmentalists and builders. Peasants refused to give their land for construction, nature conservationists were not allowed to break the mountainside, and the financiers were horrified, calculating the cost of the tunnel

It seemed that the matter would never get off the ground, but the solution to the problem was found. A 10.5 km long road was built over the river, erecting a bridge that, exactly repeating the bends of the river, connects the mountainous district with the central motorway. Of course, the erection of such a bridge cost more than construction on the ground, but it is much cheaper than building a tunnel.

If you peer into the distance, the "road over the water" winds like a dragon. It stretches along the river, wrapping up mountain ranges, and then goes away into remote places. The mountains along the road have a blue-black color, and the water on the surface because of the wind looks like in the picture.

The road according to local residents is doomed to become a local landmark.
